About Me

Jo Malseed PhD, DSFH, HPD, CPDMH, PGDipDth

When I was in my late teens, my hands were covered in literally hundreds of warts.  No treatment, whether conventional or complementary got rid of them, not even having them frozen with liquid nitrogen.  When I was 21, a new GP taught me self-hypnosis to treat my warts.  Within a fortnight they were all gone, and what’s more, disappeared in the order that I had focused on them.  I was bowled over.  Thirty years later, I bumped into the same GP by chance, and he offered to teach me Dynamic Imagery to help me tackle my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which the latest research had just discovered is an auto-immune disorder.  I proceeded to engage in Dynamic Imagery and focused on my immune system at a cellular level.  Within three months of consistent, disciplined work, my symptoms had reversed.  The change was miraculous and undeniable.

On the back of this experience, I decided to swap careers from one therapy to another.  I am now a fully qualified Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist, having trained at the prestigious Clifton Practice in Bristol, recognised in Britain and internationally as a Centre of Excellence for hypnotherapy.  Here  I was awarded a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma – considered the gold standard in hypnotherapy – and then went on to complete a Clifton Practice Diploma in Medical Hypnotherapy.  Furthermore, I am a Registered Member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy, which, in a climate where hypnotherapy is still unregulated, endorses that I have been professionally trained, and agree to be bound by the highest standards of conduct, am DBS checked and fully insured, and continue to engage in further training to ensure that I am up-to-date with the latest research practices.
